The Biodiversity Benchmark is a rigorous certification recognising land-managing organisations that adopt a systematic, sustained approach to the enhancement and protection of nature on their sites.
By maintaining this award, Stockley Park reaffirms its commitment to biodiversity and the wellbeing of both people and wildlife alike.
Since achieving the award for the first time in 2021, Stockley Park has:
- Implemented a Biodiversity Action Plan that intentionally creates habitats for a range of species, from bats (five species) to hedgehogs to breeding birds (23 species) including reed warblers.
- Developed wildflower meadows and planted pollinator-friendly plant species to support insects, birds and the wider ecosystem.
- Managed ten lakes on site, substantial green space (88-acres), and maintained habitats alongside commercial operations
Achieving the award once is significant, but retaining it demonstrates ongoing improvement, monitoring and management. It reinforces that biodiversity and commercial estates can successfully operate side by side. For occupiers, visitors, and the local community, it provides a clear indication that Stockley Park is meeting its environmental commitments.
