Oak Wood School Gardening Club

30.03.21

Recently, Stockley Park Estates Company Limited (SPECL) donated a ton of compost to a local school, Oak Wood School. Knowing the benefits of being outside and enjoying gardening, SPECL was keen to be involved when we heard of the school’s desire to open up a part of their land for the students to be part of an active gardening club.

Members of the Landscaping team delivered the compost on 9th March, in time for the children’s return to school from lockdown.

Along with the compost, SPECL also donated some shrubs and plants which will make a picturesque flower bed to welcome visitors to the school.

The gardening club offers students a chance to get their hands dirty while helping to develop the school’s land and learn about the biodiversity of the area. One aim of the school is to develop a vegetable patch that will offer rewarding produce for the children to enjoy and SPECL hopes to be involved further by offering small tuition sessions when it is safe to do so.
