Occupiers show their generosity for local charities

06.01.23

Stockley Park occupiers went above and beyond with showing their generosity for the 2022 Christmas Donation Drive. Stockley Park Estates Company Limited (SPECL) organized the drive to collect items for the patients of the TOPAZ midwifery team at Hillingdon Hospital.

TOPAZ Midwifery Team

Titled Stockley Supports, the drive was extremely successful with hundreds of items being donated, from toothbrushes and nappies to baby clothes and wipes. The Topaz team support families facing many challenges. These may be complex mental health issues, domestic abuse, teenage pregnancy, learning disability, families facing complex social challenges, substance and/or alcohol abuse. The team supports women fleeing domestic abuse in refuges and also asylum seekers placed in initial accommodation.

Two vehicles were full of generous donations from Stockley Park occupiers when members of SPECL delivered the items to a delighted team at the hospital.

Karen Phipps, lead for TOPAZ Team, said

“We would like to thank all those at Stockley Park who, in these challenging financial times, supported the families that we care for by generously donating so many essential items to really help those who are most in need. This allows the team to go over and above their duty of care, especially during the festive period when other support agencies are closed. Your generosity really does make a difference to the women and families we support.”

The work is not just for Christmas so if you would like to donate throughout the year for the TOPAZ team, please contact SPECL who will be able to assist.

St Anselm’s Food Bank

As well as collecting for the TOPAZ Team, Stockley Supports has provided a collection space for the local food bank at St Anselm’s Church in Hayes. The food bank is independent meaning that those in need do not need to be referred nor require vouchers to benefit from the donations. Since launching in October 2022, SPECL has already delivered four carloads of items, all kindly donated by Stockley Park occupiers.

Stockley Supports food bank collection will be continuing year-round and we kindly ask Stockley Park occupiers to continue with their generous donations by dropping off the items at The Management Centre. The list of items the food bank requires can be found here.

Thank You

Thank you to all who took the time to donate to both of these worthy causes. SPECL knows times are hard for everyone at the moment so really appreciates more than ever the generosity shown by everyone.
