Our friends at Hillingdon Hospitals Charity have kindly penned the following message to all occupiers and sent some photos of their wonderful staff…
Dear Friends across Stockley Park,
On behalf of all of us at Hillingdon Hospital and the charity, I would like to pass on a huge THANK YOU for your support and friendship at this very difficult time for the whole country. We have been truly overwhelmed by the love from the public and local businesses alike, and we are tremendously grateful for all the gifts of food, provisions and financial donations to the wellbeing appeal for our frontline staff.
Monies raised are being spent without delay on things to help staff cope working long shifts under very stressful conditions. Examples would be providing rest and breakout areas, creams to ease the chafing of PPE eye and face masks, specialist counselling, healthy food and beverages staff can access in wards without having to change out of their scrubs and so on. What this whole experience has revealed to us in a way not so obvious before is the need for a more permanent rest and breakout area for staff on the frontline. There is no such area in place at the moment so that is where we as a charity supporting the NHS Trust will be turning our attention in the immediate future. We will be sure to keep you informed of developments there or if you would like to keep track on our work please visit http://www.hillingdonhospitalscharity.org
With best wishes,
David Jenkins
Charity Director
